I Will Wear Your Body Art
I am officially holding a contest. Send me a concept for a body tattoo, and if I choose your design, I will reward with a $100 gift certificate to a restaurant or retailer in your area. Now, before you ask, I am not normally 'that kind of girl'. I have no ink whatsoever on my skin, and generally fall into the blonde haired, blue-eyed, innocuous-looking category. And before you start making any side bets on whether I will actually do it (JORDAN!!!), hear me out. Last week, we figured out the plan of action for my remaining treatment. If all goes well, I will have at least 4 more surgeries (the knock you out kind) in and among the chemo and radiation. That being said, the number of scars on my skin is becoming very disturbing to me. Like little bits of the body that houses my soul are being hacked away slowly. Before going through this, I would have questioned if someone tattooed an eagle on their skin in their 20's, are they ready for it to be a buzzard in their 80's? Well, I can definitively answer yes. We in the business of cancer survival call that a high-class problem to have. So send me your ideas. And they need to be big--collar bone to hip. Disney characters need not apply.
